Exercise – Dyad

Forgiveness is a process and skill that takes practice. This is an exercise in listening:

Let’s set up a dyad (2 people). One person will be the listener. The listener asks the questions – and listens. If you are the listener, there is no talking, interjecting, no thinking of what to say or how to fix things. Just listen unconditionally (practice compassionate listening). One of you will have 5 minutes to answer each question while the other listens. Then switch.

Question 1: What have you not yet forgiven about someone else?

Question 2: What have you not yet forgiven in yourself?

Now switch.

Now I ask you:

Question 3: What are you still feeling most guilty about in your life (let it go)?

Question 4: Is anyone moved to share what they experienced?
