When we are young we believe we can do anything. We are convinced this life will never end. As we age and mature, we begin to think more about death and dying – especially when we lose someone dear. If we are ill, we sometimes feel we are moving closer to the end of life. Many of us walk through life fearing death so intensely that we forget to live fully; we live instead in fear.
The best time to think about your death is not under duress, but in times when you have time, literally, to mull things over.
In the following pages we encourage you to think about the legacy you hope to leave behind – for that will in many ways define the life you intend to live. We guide you through a process that will help you discover your legacy and even outline your own funeral. This will give you something to feel proud of. It will also give your loved ones two less things to worry about: they will know how to eulogize how you lived and who you were and they will have instructions on how to truly celebrate your life as part of your remembrance service or funeral.
